Gabrielle Pietrangelo is a Tucson-based singer-songwriter whose music blends humor, spirituality, and a deep connection to the Southwest region. Winner of the 2023 John Lennon Summer Songwriting Contest for “Summer Losers,” Gabrielle brings soulful energy and a strong sense of community to every performance—whether solo or with her band. Her 2025 album, Back to the Heart, was described by KXCI’s Duncan Hudson as “a love song to this community and the Sonoran Desert we call home.” You can find Gabby’s album cover, a vibrant mural painted by renowned Tucson artist Jessica Gonzalez, on the south wall of the historic Rialto Theatre.
Brian Lopez has been a vanguard of the Southwest indie scene for the past two decades. Moving effortlessly between a classically trained guitarist and a crooner-style vocalist, his work spans solo projects as well as co-fronting the Tucson-based psych rock/cumbia band XIXA. He has also toured with artists including KT Tunstall, Giant Sand, Mexican Institute of Sound, Orkesta Mendoza, and Calexico. His latest solo release, Tidal, continues to showcase his signature blend of evocative songwriting, ethereal vocals and richly layered sound.
