Come see this vibrant exhibit in our upstairs gallery - "Count Your Blessings".  Beautiful Batik Art by Sironka  

 Opening reception beginning at 7:00 pm   FREE

In the year 2000, Sironka was awarded the prestigious Fulbright Scholar –In-Residence Award from the US Government, to come teach Batik art and Maasai Culture at

Whitworth College, (now Whitworth University) in Spokane Washington.  In childhood he was always fascinated by his Maasai culture. However, he later learnt

that much was misinterpreted and misunderstood about the people.  He then made it his life’s ambition to find a way to tell the truth about his people with dignity and

truth - with his batik art.  Today over 30 years later, he continues to enjoy creating facets of the Maasai culture on large pieces of canvas with captions that help articulate the cultural significance of each piece.
