Old York cares for 16 buildings, 20 properties, more than 20,000 artifacts, 50,000 archival objects in the library, and serves thousands of people annually through tours, educational programs, exhibitions, and special events.
Description
Old York is home to the largest and finest collection of early furnishings and architectural elements produced in Southern Maine. The Covid shut down gave staff a rare opportunity to do a deep dive in to the collections to perform focused research. The result is a slew of new information, reattributions, and exciting discoveries. Join Joel Lefever, executive director and chief curator, for a special tour of the Remick Gallery as he discusses the new objects in The Best of York, as well as some recent revelations about old favorites.
