Garden Tool Maintenance and Repair (MSHS)
Learn to care for your garden tools in this hands-on repair workshop covering cleaning, sharpening, and oiling, so you can keep your tools in good condition for years to come.

Share Now that gardening season is in full swing, you may have discovered that one or more of your tools needs some attention. In this hands-on workshop from the Minnesota Tool Library & the Minnesota State Horticultural Society, we'll demonstrate and discuss basic tool maintenance, then give you a chance to clean up a few of your own tools!
Topics covered in this class include: caring for wooden handles, rust prevention, cleaning, and sharpening.
Workshop participants are invited to bring 2-5 garden tools such as shovels, rakes, or pruners. If you need to replace a handle, bring the replacement parts with you.
Please understand that we are not able to address all tool repair issues. We can’t guarantee that you will have time to finish work on all the tools you bring.
