About the Event
The 17th Annual Gawad Kalinga Houston Texas HOPE Ball 2026 is a Flores de Mayo Fundraising celebration supporting education through SEED Philippines and housing through Gawad Kalinga.
This year, the Gawad Kalinga HOPE Ball introduces a meaningful and refreshing approach to its annual gala by embracing the timeless Filipino tradition of Flores de Mayo not just as a cultural showcase, but as a platform to honor community impact.
In a special segment of the evening, representatives of Filipino organizations across the Houston area will be recognized as a Reyna ng Flores de Mayo. As each Reyna walks across the stage, she will not only embody grace and tradition but also represent her organization's mission. This ceremonial presentation is intentionally non-competitive and inclusive, its goal is to recognize the many groups quietly serving both local and global communities. It is a celebration of unity honoring the idea that while these organizations may operate independently, they are collectively strengthening the Filipino community through service.

IMPACT
Gawad Kalinga USA has significantly contributed to building 3,000 cohesive communities across the Philippines. Over 5,000 local leaders work in solidarity with poor communities, volunteers, local government units and private institutions.
These communities allow us to listen to their most pressing concerns and inform us how to best respond to their needs.
