What is Special Interest Theater?
Special Interest Theater is a brand new, Autistic-led theater company that seeks to uplift neurodivergent and disabled artists by allowing them to tell the stories THEY want to see onstage.
What is GENRE DIVERGENCE?
Genre Divergence is a staged reading series that allows neurodivergent playwrights to put their own spin on high-concept genre storytelling. Sci-fi horror! Thriller! Romantic comedy! Even magical girl anime! All genre that these playwrights have adored for years and wanted to put their own spin on.

Comedy and suspense blur together as the cast and crew of a sketch comedy show find themselves questioning morals and morality as a violent threat interrupts their live broadcast. But the show must go on!
Wednesday, July 2nd: MAGICAL GIRL PLAY by Emmy Kuperschmid
"How do you make up for fourteen years of being the chosen one when you don't even know if you're good enough to be the chosen one in the first place?"
Dakota is 28 years old, working a desk job in a city when she finds out her magical destiny: She's the warrior of light and justice chosen to save the world from darkness-- a discovery she was supposed to make 14 years ago. Discovering you're a hero may be thrilling, but can you fight evil by moonlight while still making it to the office by 8am? Who is the new guy in the office, and where is her best friend disappearing to? And are things as black and white, good and evil, as her new magical companion claims?

The crew of the Starship Fidelity is on a mission to examine life forms on an alien planet. When Carol, the Xenobiologist, is attacked by a hostile creature, the crew must process her abrupt and violent death. However, when Carol's space suit makes a surprise reappearance, seemingly moving of its own accord, the crew questions whether or not she is still alive. Is the person in The Suit really Carol? If not, what does The Suit want?
