Make the most of your Buffalo Zoo visit with an up-close experience with some of your favorite animals! Animal encounters offer a unique opportunity for you to go behind the scenes and learn about our animals from the keepers who work with them every day.
Go behind the scenes and meet our giraffe herd, learn about their daily life at the Buffalo Zoo, including diets, enrichment, training, and much more. This private, 25-30 minute experience is head and shoulders above the rest! Giraffe encounters are available every Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday at 11:00am. Only one session per day. Encounters are $150 for up to six guests per session. There are no exceptions on party size. Encounter tickets do not include Zoo admission. Guests ages two and under must be held in the arms of an adult for the entire session.

Please do not enter the Zoo if you have COVID-19, believe you have been exposed to COVID-19, or have been asked to quarantine by a medical professional.
All guests will undergo a health screening prior to being allowed entry into the Zoo. Any guests displaying a temperature of 100.4 or above will not be allowed entry, including those in their party. The health screen you received today is not intended to be a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Seek the advice of your physician or another qualified health provider with any questions you may have regarding COVID-19 or any other medical condition. If you have a temperature of 100.4 F or higher you will not be permitted access into the Buffalo Zoo.
For the safety of you and your fellow guests, we ask that you wear a mask at all times inside the Zoo and maintain social distancing between other guests.
You are encouraged to assess your own health and the health of those in your party as well as any personal risk factors prior to visiting the Buffalo Zoo. An inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public place where people are present. COVID-19 is an extremely contagious disease that can lead to severe illness and death. By visiting the Buffalo Zoo, you voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19.
