Description
This musical fable offers a new spin to the traditional fairy tale of Goldilocks and the Three Bears as told with a “Louisiana twist” by the founder of BPCC’s Theatre Program and master storyteller, Stephen W. Slaughter. In this Cajun version of the story, the swamp animals liven up their “Fais do do” (party) by telling of the frightful story of Goldi Locks, a young girl with an obsession for locking up doors and buildings. Goldi visits the house of Papa, Mama, and Baybay Hebert (The Three Bears) to taste their gumbo, sit in their chairs, and to sleep in their beds and finds that she is not the first visitor - Robespierre the Rabbit has already been there and caused all sorts of trouble for which Goldi is blamed. It’s up to Goldi Locks to chase down Robespierre and return the Heberts’ home and her reputation to order.
