Mission Statement: Northern Community Radio builds community in northern Minnesota through radio programming, cultural events, and interactive media.
When you tune in to NCR you hear northern Minnesota...its people, communities, attitude. NCR is a place to learn about the world - the one outside your window and the one across the globe. It's a place to dance to good music, share ideas, laugh, meet good people and become a better steward of the universe.
A first-of-its-kind rural public radio station, NCR is a national model for regional rural public radio of its type.
Northern Community Radio is a federally and state tax-exempt 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation. We operate under a board of directors, four of which are elected by our membership, and five are appointed by the board itself. Northern Community Radio's board adopted a system of policy governance in 1993 that it still uses.
