Description
This workshop brings you right into my flower field where I grow nearly 1,000 dahlias! It's a detailed learning opportunity for beginning dahlia growers to those who have been loving dahlias for many years. You will learn all about dahlias, how to start growing them, caring for them through summer to get stunning blooms, harvesting the blooms, digging and storing your tubers over winter and much more! I've been growing dahlias for about 12 years and I'm sharing everything I know to help your dahlias thrive at home!
We will walk through our dahlia rows where you will learn how to help your dahlias at home grow better in our Iowa environment. Everything from pest control, staking the dahlias, handling nature, how to water, how and when to cut the blooms and well, you will want to bring a pen and notebook for note taking!
Wear old tennis shoes, long socks, bring bug spray, wear a hat, bring pen/notebook/clipboard.
It will likely be hot out, but Water and chairs under shade will be provided. Plan for 2-3 hours in my flower field.
**I do not have a rain date for this workshop, workshop will be held outdoors even if light rain. If severe storms/lightening workshop will be canceled. Tickets will not be refunded.
*We do not have a restroom at the flower field, please stop and go before arriving. Access to the venue is limited as they have weddings going on.
