Description
Take a approximately 4 mile-long guided bike tour through the beautiful pastures of the James Ranch. This is a Bring Your Own Bike event, we do NOT rent bikes for this tour.
We will begin the tour by visiting the milking parlor where the cows will be to watch milking and talk about what makes raw milk and artisanal raw milk so unique. After a quick spin through the flower and vegetable gardens, we will ride down to the Animas River and through the pastures where the cattle are grazing to the newest addition to our efforts to conserve and improve our soils and pastures. As we go, there will be stops along the way to observe wildlife and livestock as available. By the time we make our return to the restaurant and market, the grill will be hot and ready to serve up lunch.
Attendees MUST bring their own bikes. Bikes need to be sturdy enough to travel across gravel, river rock roads and cattle guards. Attendees must stay on designated roads at all times. Our return trip to the restaurant and market will have some uphill climbs and crossing cattle guards will be required. Sunscreen, water, a hat, comfortable clothes and appropriate footwear are strongly suggested. Bathroom facilities are available at the market and restaurant before the tour starts and once it is over but no facilities are available along the way.
