Ushaw Historic House, Chapels & Gardens is an independent charity set in a majestic estate of 500 acres, hidden for 200 years in the heart of the Durham countryside. A unique heritage and visitor attraction, our glorious Georgian and Victorian Gothic architecture and stunning grounds make Ushaw the perfect place for families to explore and enjoy throughout the seasons.
Haddock and Chips is a show about community. Taking place in Frankie’s, the local chippie, two performers play a host of characters representing the different walks of life who pass through the doors on a daily basis.
Peopled with richly evoked characters that we don't always see on stage and brimming with humour and humanity, it takes place over the course of one evening in a fish and shop in Whitley Bay. Bob and Brenda are a staff member down - the sparks fly as does the repartee.
Expect a joyful ending and and uplifting message about the power of ordinary people to work together and care for one another. There are themes of humanity, human decency and the notion of kindness enabling people to keep on keeping on.
Please be aware, the doors for the show will open at 6pm.
No reserved seating for standard tickets (wheelchair users contact reception to make arrangements)
