Description
The third-floor apartment of No. 9 Getreidegasse in Salzburg consists of a kitchen, living room, bedroom, and office (ach ja, also a small cabinet) – into such humble beginnings was born Joannes Chrysostomus Wolfgangus Theophilus Mozart, who called himself Amadè[us] later in life. His highly developmental youth under an exacting (to say the least) father saw many travels and unsuccessful attempts to gain employment, yet his compositions before leaving Salzburg display a broad range of stylistic absorption while those from the final decade of his life in Vienna are at times unparalleled in their structure and refinement. The stage seemed to be a very important place for Mozart, regardless of genre; let’s give Wolfgang one more piece of cake and celebrate his musical magnificence!
