Description

Join library and museum educators at the third program in the bi-monthly homeschool program series hosted by the Museum of Work and Culture and the Woonsocket Harris Public Library.

February’s program will focus on child labor and activism and will be offered twice. The first program will begin at the Museum at 10:00 am, where families will be given a tour of the museum's mill floor. Participants will learn about child labor in the textile industry and how the photographs of Lewis Hines helped create child labor laws in the United States. They will even try their hand at some mill work.  

At 11:00 am, participants will move to the Harris Public Library where the children will participate in an escape room. Families will work together among themselves to solve a series of puzzle lock boxes, lock and key, and cryptex puzzles in search of the secret letters needed to escape from child labor. 

The first program will run from 10am - 12pm and the second program will run from 11am - 1pm, both beginning at the Museum.
