Description

Join us for an afternoon of support, healing, and connection at "Healing Together: Suicide Loss and Grief Support Group". This session is designed for individuals aged 15 to 28 who have experienced the loss of a friend, family or loved one due to suicide.

Together, we aim to create a safe space for sharing, raising awareness on suicide,  providing support, and fostering healing from grief.

We look forward to creating a supportive community for young adults to come together, share, raise awareness and find strength in the journey of healing and grief. 

Please note will be discussing sensitive topics. Professional counsellors will be available for debriefing assistance if needed.

Registration Information:

Who Should Attend:

  • Individuals who have lost a loved one to suicide
  • Friends and family members affected by suicide loss
  • Anyone seeking support and understanding in their grief journey

Confidentiality: During the  session, we emphasize the importance of confidentiality. Participants are encouraged to:

  • Use pseudonyms or alternate names during sharing to protect their identity.
  • Respect the privacy of others by refraining from sharing identifiable information outside the group setting.
  • Understand that discussions within the group are confidential, creating a safe and trusting space for everyone.
  • Abide by session terms and conditions and  guidelines to ensure a supportive and respectful environment.

Note:

  • This event is free of charge.

Hosted By Sisters Healing Space 

 

Nicholah is a highly experienced Black African Social Worker, Therapist, Mental Health Clinician founder of Sisters Healing Space. Her research focuses on decolonising mental health practices and exploring the impact of racial trauma. With over five years of experience in the human services and mental health sector, Nicholah specialises in trauma therapy, including childhood trauma, inter-generational trauma, and therapy for those who have experienced sexual abuse and racial trauma.

 

StandBy Support After Suicide- Anglicare WA

 

This session will be delivered alongside Sita Wong from StandBy Support After Suicide- Anglicare WA. 

We provide this service across all regions of Western Australia, providing support after losing a friend, family member or loved one to suicide. Whether the loss was recent or a long time ago, we listen and provide support tailored to your individual needs.

By registering for the Healing Together Youth Suicide Loss and Grief Support Group event, I acknowledge and agree to the following terms and conditions:

Consent for Participation: I voluntarily choose to participate in the Healing Together Youth Suicide Loss and Grief Support Group event, and I understand that my involvement is entirely optional. I am free to withdraw from the event at any time without consequence.

Confidentiality Agreement: I understand that discussions and personal information shared during the event are strictly confidential. I agree not to disclose the personal information or experiences of fellow participants outside of the event setting. This confidentiality extends to all participants, organizers, facilitators, and professionals involved.

Confidentiality: I acknowledge the importance of maintaining confidentiality during the  session. I will use pseudonyms or alternate names when sharing personal experiences to protect my identity and the identity of others.

Media Release:

  • I consent to being photographed and/or recorded during the event.
  • I understand that these photos and/or recordings may be used for promotional purposes, including but not limited to social media, event websites, and promotional materials.
  • I grant permission to the organizers to use, edit, reproduce, and distribute these materials.

Media Release Opt-Out: If you do not wish to grant permission for the use of your image and/or recordings for promotional purposes, please notify the event organizers in writing or via email prior to registering for the event.

Informed Consent for Participants Aged 15 to 17: As a participant aged 15 to 17, I confirm that I have discussed my participation in the Healing Together Youth Suicide Loss and Grief Support Group event with my parent/guardian. My parent/guardian is aware of the nature of the event, has reviewed and understands the terms and conditions, and provides their consent for my participation.

Non-Collection of Identifying Information: I understand that no identifying information will be collected during this event except for registration and emergency contact,, and I am encouraged to refrain from sharing personal details that could compromise my privacy.

Sisters Healing Space promotes healing and wellness for women from minority and marginalised groups (Black, Indigenous and Women of Colour (BIWOC) as they embark on their healing and wellness journey.

We provide an online therapist and wellness directory that gives our Sisters the autonomy to select from a list of diverse nationwide therapist and wellness professionals on their healing and wellness journey. We aim to destigmatise and decolonise therapy and wellness by facilitating therapeutic workshops, developing courses and providing racial trauma therapy and consultancy.
