Join us for the Brigade's Health & Heritage: Women and Medicine in History sponsored by the Debra Najecki Endowment and showcase some overlooked aspects of the 18th century. The Brigade of the American Revolution is excited to propose a groundbreaking conference at Washington's Crossing Historic Park, PA on March 1st and 2nd, 2025, focusing on the vital yet often overlooked subject of womenโ€™s health in the 18th Century. 

This event will bring together historians, medical experts, and enthusiasts to explore the multifaceted roles women played in health and wellness during a transformative era in American history. Through engaging presentations and interactive sessions, attendees will gain a deeper understanding of the challenges and advancements in womenโ€™s health care during the colonial period.

We are especially thrilled to announce our keynote speaker, Pulitzer Prize-winning historian ๐——๐—ฟ. ๐—Ÿ๐—ฎ๐˜‚๐—ฟ๐—ฒ๐—น ๐—ง๐—ต๐—ฎ๐˜๐—ฐ๐—ต๐—ฒ๐—ฟ ๐—จ๐—น๐—ฟ๐—ถ๐—ฐ๐—ต! Dr. Ulrich will discuss the remarkable life of Martha Ballard, a midwife from the late 1700s; focusing on her renowned book "The Midwife's Tale", telling the story of Martha Ballard, a midwife and mother living in the wilds of Maine.
