What started off as an inquisitive experiment of trying to grow mushrooms at home has turned into a full-on urban mushroom farm all within the Living Museum of Banana Block. Terry, Judy, and the evergrowing Hearty Growers cultivating team now invite you to come and experience the weird and wonderful world of urban mushroom farming.
Expect a unique 'behind-the-scenes' experience where our growers would showcase various types of strains and varieties of fungi we cultivate, along with types of waste we are currently experimenting to grow mushrooms on, learn what we do with our waste (i.e spent mushroom substrate) and get a first-hand view of how circular, sustainable and innovative this whole urban mushroom farming model is.
It doesn't end there. You get to sample some funky fungi-based beverages (teas and beers*) and take home a bag of our complimentary mushroom spent (optional). And finally, an exclusive 10% discount at our Farm Shop to all ticket holders. At our Farm shop, we curate some amazing gourmet and medicinal mushroom products from Ireland and UK small producers.
