A Note from Heather Maloney: 

“I was so inspired by the group who attended my first workshop, “The Songwriter’s Lens”, that I left feeling like I wanted way more time to dig into each songwriter’s work, to get to know the nuances of what resonates with them and their listeners, and find ways of refining and growing that resonance.

So I’m facilitating 4-part workshop series with a focus on constructive songwriting feedback in a supportive group setting. Each attendee will bring at least one song they’re currently working on, and over the course of 4 weeks they’ll have the opportunity to receive and apply any feedback that resonates with them to the song.

We’ll practice asking for specific feedback, and how to consider and decide carefully whether or not it serves the song we are hoping to write. We’ll compare how a song feels with and without the feedback we receive.

And if we choose to, we’ll play the final results in a song circle at the end of the 4th session.

Along the way, I’ll offer songwriting tips and tricks, and be available to offer guidance throughout the process, but mainly I’ll be facilitating a group endeavor to find what resonates— for the writer and the listener.”
