                   Plus Aurora Nealand + James Singleton Duo

         A singular and startling new "working trio" of elegantly-jagged sound-sculpture by three of the busiest players on the New Orleans scenes: Helen Gillet on Cello, FX and voice, Byron Asher on saxophones and clarinets, and Daniel Meinecke on modular synthesizer and keyboards.   Straddling the frontiers of jazz, electronica, chamber-music and beyond, it is potentially galvanic music for a 22nd-century punk-picnic.

         Also, as the sun is well-into its set, an opening joust by Aurora Nealand & James Singleton. These two New Orleans and international luminaries have been colleagues in many projects over the past 25 years, with perhaps none so fraught with possibility and passion as this duo that used to regularly hold-court at the "Sidebar Nola," but has been un-seen since the days of Covid began.

        These will be two exceptional sets of music for those who like their music exceptional.  My name is scatterjazz, and I endorse this message.

  • The showtime listed for the event is the time the event starts. Doors will generally open an hour before the listed show time unless otherwise listed.
      We allow pets during the day, but not at night for music (anything after 7pm). Service animals are always allowed.
     
  •  Please do not park in the Broad Theater parking lot. We have a parking lot for  The Broadside and plenty street parking available on Toulouse and Lafitte. If you would like to be escorted to your car, please ask the Sheriff on duty. You may also park in the Auto Zone parking lot if they are closed. 
  •  We have a variety of seating options such as benches, picnic tables, chairs, and stools. You are welcome to bring your own chairs, if you require a seat for health reasons or disability, please ask a staff member and they can provide you with a chair.
