Description

In 1971, Heller reimagined what furniture could be. With a groundbreaking vision, the company embraced plastic—a material often overlooked in high design—to create bold, functional, and timeless pieces. This approach, combined with collaborations with legendary designers like Massimo and Lella Vignelli, positioned Heller as a pioneer in making good design accessible to all.

Fast-forward to today, and Heller is still breaking boundaries. Partnering with contemporary creators like JUMBO Studio, Anna Dawson, Josh Owen, and Hlynur Atlason, and leveraging sustainable manufacturing processes, Heller crafts furniture that is not only elegant and durable but also affordable and environmentally responsible. It’s a story of constant reinvention, where bold innovation meets timeless style and a commitment to making exceptional design a part of everyday life.

On Thursday, February 27, 2025, join us at the Hill Auditorium at the High Museum of Art for a discussion featuring:

  • John Edelman, CEO of Heller
  • Josh Owen, Director, Vignelli Center at RIT and President of Josh Owen LLC
  • Monica Obniski, Curator of Design and Decorative Arts, High Museum of Art
  • Laura Flusche, Executive Director, MODA

The conversation will explore Heller’s journey from its iconic collaborations to its modern innovations, offering insights into how its designs continue to inspire and evolve.

Afterward, a reception at MODA will provide a chance to meet the panelists and view a curated selection of Heller products.

Bonus Event:
Ticket holders for the February 27 panel discussion are invited to an exclusive gathering on March 1 from 2:00pm-4:00pm at Switch Modern to take in the pop-up exhibition about Heller, Bold by Design.

Sip prosecco, mingle with fellow design enthusiasts, and enjoy an insightful presentation by the exhibition's curator, Scott Reilly. This intimate event is the perfect way to delve deeper into the story of Heller and its remarkable legacy.
