Description

Join us on Saturday, October 3rd from 4:00-6:00pm at the Balsam Mountain Inn for the third installment of our “History, Heritage, and Culture of Appalachia” series, led by our historian, Paula Rhodamer. Paula will be giving a presentation about loom houses, the importance of bees to our region, and food preservation processes. Specifically, Paula will focus on spinning, dyeing, and weaving, bee gums and bee trees (which will teach you a bit about the name behind our “Bee Tree Sunroom”), and can houses and root cellars! Paula will also be leading a craft after the presentation, and guests are welcome to enjoy light refreshments and a surprise autumn treat! Tickets are $14.99,
