Join Historic Rock Ford as we welcome Adam Zurn and Benton Webber for a fun afternoon of "History, Lore & Trivia" in the Rock Ford Barn. First, Adam Zurn of Uncharted Lancaster will present "Legendary Tales from the Mighty Susquehanna River." After Adam's presentation, Benton Webber will host his "Revolutionary Lancaster Quiz Bowl." Questions and answers will be in a Quiz Bowl format with teams of four being created. The Rock Ford barn will be set up so that guests will pick a table to sit at upon arrival for Adam's presentation and then those tables of four will become teams for the Quiz Bowl. Meet up with your friends and make a team or join a group at a table and make some new friends!
Adam Zurn's presentation will be from 2 PM to 3 PM followed by Benton Webber's Quiz Bowl from 3 PM to 4 PM. This event will be held in the Langmuir Education Room located on the first floor of the Rock Ford Barn.
This event is free but registration is required and seating is limited!
About Adam Zurn: Adam Zurn is an author, explorer, and founder of Uncharted Lancaster, a history and adventure platform dedicated to uncovering the forgotten stories, local legends, and hidden places of Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. Blending careful research with folklore and mystery, he brings the region’s past to life through immersive storytelling, treasure hunts, and guided explorations. A technology education teacher with 25 years of experience at the Lampeter-Strasburg School District, Adam has called Lancaster County home since 1997. He serves on the boards of the Historic Preservation Trust of Lancaster County and the Conestoga Area Historical Society and is the author of Uncharted Lancaster: A Field Guide to the Strange, Storied, and Hidden Places of Lancaster County, Pennsylvania; Uncharted Lancaster’s Ghosts, Monsters, and Tales of Adventure; and the children’s book Canassatego and His Six Arrows: A Story of Wisdom, Peace, and the Birth of a Nation.
About Benton Webber: Ben Webber is a local civil engineer and avid historian. He grew up and resides in Manheim Township along the Conestoga River. He leads the Manheim Township Historical Society as its president. It's no surprise that he's an ardent student of our community's development with an unquenchable thirst for local history and curiosity about the changes that we have made on the environment. His collaborations with like-minded historians extend to every corner of the County. Ben continually strives for broad public awareness about the stories behind commonly shared infrastructure, like the Lincoln Highway, or events that touched the lives of nearly everyone, like Lafayette's visit to Lancaster in 1825, and for preservation of the historic buildings that define our community's character. The Historic Preservation Trust honored Ben earlier this year with a C. Emlen Urban Award. He's also been heavily involved this year with special presentations of "Revolutionary Lancaster" in concert with America250 celebrations.

Historic Rock Ford is comprised of the circa 1794 General Edward Hand Mansion and the John J. Snyder, Jr. Gallery of Early Lancaster County Decorative Arts. Our historic site is situated on 33 acres of gardens, woods and grounds surrounded by Lancaster County Central Park located in the southeast corner of Lancaster City. This remarkable estate offers visitors the opportunity to encounter the outstanding original late-Georgian style architecture of the Hand Mansion, to experience its rooms furnished in exquisite period style while, in the Snyder Gallery, to explore a nationally recognized collection of Lancaster County decorative arts dating from circa 1760 to 1820 including furniture, portraiture, long rifles, tall case clocks, silver, and much more.
