Description
Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month by learning about the art of hojalata, or Mexican Tin Art. During October’s Homeschool Day at your art museum, you can practice the art of hojalata by safely embossing a piece of tin art with dull pencils. We’ll learn about Mexican folk art imagery and motifs while making a piece of art meaningful to you!
Homeschool days at your art museum always include drop-in artmaking from 10a-1p, docent led tours at 10:30a and 1:15p, and gallery activities for all ages.
Sponsored by the Turley Foundation, Inc and Amy and Ronnie Wright.
The museum and all its programs are made possible by the generous support of museum members. Members enjoy free daily admission to Memphis Brooks Museum of Art and receive discounts of up to 50% on ticketed events. Join today at thebrooks.org/join
