Homeschool Days Fall 2022

September 9, October 14, November 11, December 9

10 am-12 pm

Homeschool Days are back this fall at the Garden! Join us for hands-on learning that supplements your homeschool curriculum for ages 6+.

September 9 - Jungle Journey - Take a rainforest adventure without ever leaving the city! Tour our tropical greenhouse and play jungle games as you learn about all the plants and animals that make up this exciting ecosystem.

October 14 - Eco Trek - Our Garden trail guide will outfit your explorers with an observation journal and take them on an Eco-Trek! Students will become part of the web of life, explore the cycles of the forest, and examine the parts of a wetland as they learn about the delicate balance of different ecosystems.

November 11 - Tennessee Treasures (Thankful for Tennessee) - Discover the wonders of Tennessee with a variety of state symbol crafts and activities. Students will "mock" a mockingbird and even dance the state dance: the square dance.

December 9 - Tie-Dye - Let nature be your palette as you learn the age-old tradition of tie-dye. Students will learn about the many different plants that are used to create fabrics and dyes. Each student will get to tie-dye their own t-shirts using modern-day dyes. (Each student will need to provide a pre-washed, white t-shirt.)

$10 MBG Members/$12 Non-Members. Price per child participant per class. Adults who accompany their child will need to pay Garden admission upon entry to the Garden.

Classes are held rain or shine. Advance registration required at least one week in advance of each class.
