    42 South Main Street
    Woonsocket, Rhode Island 02895
Description

The Museum of Work and Culture and the Woonsocket Harris Public Library will host the first program in their bi-monthly free educational series for homeschool families.

Participants will meet at the Museum of Work & Culture, where a museum educator will discuss the concept of mutual aid and its role in Industrial Rhode Island communities. Come learn about the ways historic communities helped each other at the grassroots level. From unions to cultural organizations to church groups, aid was available to those who needed it.

Participants will then move to the Woonsocket Harris Public Library, where the students will make signs using poster board to help promote a non-perishable food drive. The signs will be displayed in the library and items will be collected at the Library during its normal business hours. All items collected will be donated to the Rhode Island Food Bank!

This two-part program will have two sessions, each starting at the Museum of Work & Culture, and will be offered rain or shine. Families may register for the 10 am-12 pm session or the 11 am-1 pm session. Space is limited, and registration is required. Contact mowc@rihs.org for questions.

Upcoming session dates:

December 14th
