As business leaders, we have the power to make lasting change. 17 million people in the UK have a disability, and it costs 62 per cent more to simply exist as a disabled person than a non-disabled person. Every industry fails to consider the impact of their decisions on this large community. From supermarket checkouts to transport, schools and workplaces to town planning, we are ignoring the basic needs of nearly one in four of the UK population. As the national governing body for wheelchair basketball in the UK, we want to use our platform to highlight these inequities and empower leaders to make change.
