General public evening tickets are now sold out. We encourage you to join the waitlist for your preferred timeslot and if there are any cancellations you will receive an email. Members of the public without a ticket will not be admitted to the event site at any time.

Guests of participating Lake Louise Hotels (Lake Louise Inn, Mountaineer Lodge, Baker Creek Mountain Resort, Emerald Lake Lodge and Storm Mountain Lodge) have exclusive tickets and shuttle times available. Access to book is provided through your hotel, please contact your hotels' front desk for more information.

Ice Magic is an International Ice Carving Competition that has been taking place on the shores of Lake Louise for 30 years. In 2024, we are welcoming world-class ice carvers back to the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise for a reimagined evening viewing edition of the annual event. Teams will compete across 30-hours to build ice sculptures with the theme this year of “Moments of Bliss in Banff National Park”. 
 

Please note that this year, your Ice Magic experience will begin at the Lake Louise Ski Resort. All guests travelling by car will need to park here and take the complimentary shuttle bus to the Ice Magic event site at the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise.

EVENT DETAILS

What

  • Watch world class ice carvers work their artistic magic on ice blocks from 6:00pm-9:00pm on Friday 26 and Saturday 27 January, with the live carving competition ending at approximately 2:00pm on Sunday 28 January, to be followed with an intimate awards ceremony from 6:45pm that evening.
  • Sculpture viewings and live Ice Carving Demonstrations from 6:00pm-9:00pm on Friday 2 – Sunday 4 February, 2024.
  • Onsite ice bar serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks within the Ice Magic gardens.
  • Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise restaurants and other activities often require reservations. Please check the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise’s website for more details and contact information.

Where: Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise

Getting there: Your Ice Magic ticket includes a seat on the shuttle bus from the Lake Louise Ski Resort Car Park to the event. Attendees with pre-purchased tickets are encouraged to use the shuttles for the best Ice Magic experience and to guarantee access to the Lake Louise shoreline. Shuttles will be operating from the Lake Louise Ski Resort Car Park on ticketed event days from 6:00p.m. - 9:00p.m.
 

Waitlist Information
Those who sign up on the waitlist will be contacted either through email or SMS if any tickets become available for your chosen timeslot. When tickets become available, everyone who is on the waitlist for that timeslot will be notified.

Talented artists from around the world converge to carve massive blocks of snow into intricate and imaginative creations during the SnowDays festival. Immerse yourself in the captivating world of Banff National Park's tiniest creatures brought to life as giant sculptures with our theme, "Small Wonders of Banff." 
 

You can also skate in Banff at the Recreation Grounds Outdoor Ice Rink, open daily from 8:00a.m. to 8:30p.m.
