Highly original…wonderfully gifted.... She calls herself a storyteller, but obviously she is much more. She combines song, sound, and story, weaving a most remarkable spell..."

            Robert Sherman,
            Woody's Children, WQXR-FM Radio NY

"To say that Heather Forest has a way with words would be a ludicrous understatement.

Rather, she has HER way with words, stringing them together so they ring with a rhythmic

beauty and create a picture so real that it can be traced with the fingers... Forest has an incredible emotive voice.... mesmerizing, compelling, clear, and strong.                                                               The Milwaukee Journal, Wisconsin

Megan Wells is an award-winning and nationally-respected professional storyteller who has enthralled audiences for more than 40 years.  She holds a BA in theatre from Illinois Wesleyan and an MFA in Directing from Illinois State University. She has appeared in theatres, with symphonies, and in cultural arts venues throughout the USA.  Her extensive performance repertoire includes myths, folklore, persona, and literary tales. She is highly respected for her directing of contemporary storytellers and is a recipient of the National Storytelling Network’s Circle of Excellence Award.

Megan is also among the top literary storytellers in America. As the Artistic Director of the Ray Bradbury Storytelling Festival, Megan was granted permission by Ray himself to perform his works. Additionally, she is equally comfortable in the jazzier domains of Chicago's current spoken word explosion.

“Megan Wells makes the written word leap off the page, with grand characterizations, vivid descriptions, and an exciting delivery that creates colorful and imaginative worlds for her audiences.  From the cold depth of Dracula’s castle, to the warmth and grandeur of Mt. Olympus, Megan creates three dimensional worlds using minimal costumes and set pieces that reinforce but never upstage the spoken word. The depth and range she brings to her performances leave audiences with a newly found appreciation for the art of storytelling  and has them begging for more. This is live performance at its finest and we welcome her to our theatre every chance we get.”

-Wayne Mell, Artistic Director, MadKap Productions; Managing Director Skokie Theatre
