IMPROV FOR TEENS Workshop
Does your teenager want to be the next Steve Carell, Tina Fey or the next TikTok superstar? Do they want to hone their acting skills, become equipped to succeed in auditions, or learn comedy techniques that will allow them to stand out on social media? Or maybe they just want to meet other like-minded teens their own age and have a fun time hanging out and laughing together. If you answered "yes" to any of these, then our Improv for Teens workshop is perfect for them!
ImprovCity's Improv for Teens workshop provides a fun and supportive environment for students to learn the basics of improvisational acting, storytelling, and stagecraft. Help your teen unlock their creative voice, learn to work collaboratively with others, and build new friendships. No previous experience is necessary.
With an emphasis on positivity, students learn the skills of public speaking, accepting and celebrating mistakes, making bold choices and trusting their instinct, being a team player, thinking quicker on their feet, active listening, and more!

1. What ages can enroll in the Improv for Teens workshop?
• Ages 13-17
2. How long is the class?
• Class is from 10am to 1pm. There will be a small 10 minute break in the middle of class so feel free to have your teen bring a snack and/or something to drink (ie: water bottle) with them.
Classes will be taught by members of ImprovCity and The Collaboratory. The Collaboratory is a group of creative theatre professionals who are committed to inspiring, encouraging, and motivating students and community members by teaching workshops and performing original works that illuminate social concepts and educational standards in new and exciting ways. We are a non profit organization that specializes in providing interactive and engaging assemblies to schools and libraries across Southern California. By blending our unique sense of humor with our theatrical expertise, we teach young audiences about conflict resolution, bullying, personal development, and more!
ImprovCity has been performing professional improvisational comedy shows throughout Southern California (and across the country) for over ten years. Our shows are fast-paced, funny and interactive. We offer both PG-13 (family friendly) and uncensored shows.
ImprovCity shows feature professional improv comedians performing short-form improvised games, scenes and songs in a high energy comedic style. And since the show is improvised, no two shows are ever the same!
