Are you looking to give your furry friend some extra training? Maybe you have been to our puppy class and want to carry on your training with your soon to be adolescent dog. Our life skills dog training classes are perfect for dogs over 5 months old who are looking to learn foundational skills.

 

Over the course of 6 weeks, you and your dog will learn the basic foundations of dog training. This course is perfect for adolescent dogs or those who are new to training or are looking to improve on their dogs obedience. Our experienced trainers will work with you to establish a strong basis that will set you and your pup up for success.

 

Here's a sneak peek of what you'll learn:

  • If you have been on a previous puppy course with us, you will be learning to advance the skills that you already began and upping the difficulty with distance, distraction and/or duration
  • Basic positions such as sit, down, stand: We'll work on the duration of these cues to solidify this behaviour in any situation.
  • Recall: A reliable recall is essential for keeping your dog safe, and we'll help you establish the start for it.
  • Settle training: Teach your dog to relax and settle down, making life easier for everyone.
  • Stay/wait: Teach your dog to stay put until you're ready for them to move again.
  • Emergency stops: Help your dog learn to stop on cue, which could be life-saving in an emergency.
  • Loose lead walking: Learn how to teach your dog to walk on a loose lead, making walks more enjoyable for both of you.
  • Basic manners: We'll work on teaching your dog some basic manners, such as not jumping up on people or begging for food.

 

But that's not all! We'll cover much, much more, including tips for successful training, building a bond with your dog and more.

 

Our dog training classes are taught by an experienced and qualified trainer who use positive reinforcement techniques to help your dog learn. With their help, you'll be amazed at what your dog can accomplish.
