-HELL of the EVIL DEAD (screening 2nd)
Synopsis:
Four friends go on a camping trip to hike through the secluded forest to get away from the city life. But what they find deep in the woods is a cabin haunted by...DEMONS. Surrounded by evil the friends must survive the night before they are all possessed one by one. Are you thinking this sounds familiar and you've seen this before? No shit! It's a fucking cabin in the woods movie, you prick! There's nothing original here.
I'm sorry, I didn't mean to call you a prick. Just a little agitated. Let's start over. Hi, thanks for reading this far. Do you like horror movies in the woods? Do you like Italian cinema with a Fabio Frizzi type score? Do you have drunk movie nights with your friends to watch bad films? If you answered yes - or - no to any of that, HELL of the EVIL DEAD is just for you.
Shot in the summer of 2015, the filmmakers set out to have a serious horror flick. The result was mediocre at best and the original cut entitled "GUARDING EVIL" which was shelved for several years. But then Rock Bottom Video turned to Jack Daniels and Miller Lite in order to give it the Italian treatment in the style of Bruno Mattei and Claudio Fragasso. With some new edits, bad dubbing, and a dope synth score (that may or may not be plagiarized), HELL of the EVIL DEAD premiered at Cinema Wasteland in 2018 to a packed midnight audience!
HELL of the EVIL DEAD makes The Room look like an A24 film; makes Troll 2 look like Troll 1; and Plan 9 look like it was directed by Neil Breen! This is the Best Worst Movie you've never heard of, but have been waiting for your entire life!
-Directed, shot, and written by Brian Kilby.
-Produced by Rock Bottom Video.
-Starring: Adam Lorenz, Sadie Tate, Patrick Dear, Mae Bell, with Brian Papandrea and Nathan Rumler.
