Description

Join artists and Dieu Donné staff Katharine L. DeLamater and John Shorb for a public talk exploring the techniques and concepts behind the handmade paper artworks featured in Beyond the Surface at the Brooks, the creative possibilities of hand papermaking, and the nature of the collaborative publishing process in papermaking at Dieu Donné. Take a look from behind the scenes at some of Dieu Donné's most exciting recent projects, such as collaborations with Howardena Pindell, Diana Al-Hadid, and Cannupa Hanska Luger, and the history of artist collaborations in paper. DeLamater and Shorb will discuss their own artistic practices and their handmade paper works on view.

Founded in 1976, Dieu Donné is the leading nonprofit cultural institution dedicated to serving emerging and established artists through the collaborative creation of contemporary art using the process of hand papermaking. Based in Brooklyn, our one-of-a-kind programs include residencies, fellowships, exhibitions, workshops, artist talks, and publications. Learn more at www.dieudonne.org
