Inside the Case: Adnan Syed with Judge Wanda Heard
A limited-seating conversation with Judge Wanda Keyes Heard, exploring the murder of Hae Min Lee and the Baltimore trial that became a worldwide obsession.
Before we reopen the file at True Crime Cult, we’re spending one evening with the judge who presided over the trial.
On Monday, November 16, join J. Coursey Willis for an exclusive conversation with Judge Wanda Keyes Heard, who presided over Adnan Syed’s 2000 murder trial and sentenced him following the jury’s guilty verdict.
Years before Serial brought the case to millions, Judge Heard was in the courtroom. She heard the testimony, considered the legal arguments, and watched the case unfold. After retiring, she publicly defended the evidence supporting the conviction when it was vacated in 2022.
Now, she joins us to share her firsthand perspective on the trial, the evidence, and a case that continues to divide public opinion.
J. Coursey Willis will moderate the evening using questions submitted by True Crime Cult attendees. An audience Q&A will follow the moderated conversation.
Have a question for Judge Heard? Email it in advance to info@jcourseywillis.com by Monday, November 9, for consideration in the moderated conversation.
Come ready to listen, ask thoughtful questions, and look beyond the headlines.
