Fall Insiders’ Salon
Dark Wave / Light Room
Thursday, October 30, 2025 | 7:00 –9:00 PM
Acadiana Center for the Arts | Main Gallery

Join us for an evening of shadows, light, and creativity at the next Insiders' Salon. Step into the world of Dark Wave / Light Room, AcA's fall main gallery exhibition.

At this event, we celebrate the exploration of line, form, and texture through a monochromatic lens, featuring works by:

Kristie Cornell, Fred Daspit, Marianne Desmarais, Marla Kristicevich, Eugene James Martin, Jesse Poimboeuf, and Scot Sinclair.

This exclusive gathering brings together AcA Insiders and President’s Circle members for a private after-hours celebration of the arts.

You can expect:

  • Sparky 86 — sibling dueling pianos sure to electrify the night
  • Shadow photo booth & take-home art activations
  • Specialty cocktails + mocktails + light bites
  • A dash of Hallow’s Eve fun
  • An intimate and private gallery experience with space to explore, mingle, and create

Special Invitation:

In the spirit of Dark Wave / Light Room, we invite you to dress in monochrome—either all black or all white. Or, celebrate the season with a Halloween costume, especially if it plays with light and shadow.

This dress suggestion is recommended, but never required. Come as you are, in whatever makes you feel comfortable—we’ll just be happy to celebrate with you.

RSVP for you and up to 6 guests here!

We are looking forward to sharing an evening of light, shadows, and magic with you.

Dark Wave / Light Room features artists who have chosen to explore the subtlety and richness of a monochrome palette. Their works investigate line, form, and texture through varying modes of abstraction. This exhibition showcases a variety of artistic mediums including sculpture, photography, drawing, and painting.

Acadiana Center for the Arts

Our mission is fostering art and culture in Acadiana.

Founded in 1975, Acadiana Center for the Arts (“AcA”) is a community-supported nonprofit organization that fosters art and culture in Acadiana. Since its founding, AcA has developed as a major force, shaping the future of public education and community development in South Louisiana.

AcA supports the creation of new works of art, exhibits, festivals, performances, and public art across an eight-parish region that includes Acadia, Evangeline, Iberia, Lafayette, St. Landry, St. Martin, St. Mary, and Vermilion Parishes.

AcA aims to bring equitable access to the arts and supports fair compensation of artists. On average, AcA serves over 300,000 people annually and provides fair compensation to 2,700 artists.

In 2013, the AcA merged with the Performing Arts Society of Acadiana (“PASA”), whose mission was to educate, inspire, entertain, and culturally enrich the people of south Louisiana by providing local access to a diverse range of the performing arts. This merger supported the vision of both organizations and provided much-needed support to PASA’s programs. Founded in 1989, PASA served as a leading voice in the performing arts in South Louisiana for close to three decades.
