Description

Roll, press, and reveal—printmaking is full of surprises. In Intro to Printmaking, this Inspired Aging class invites you to explore a variety of techniques including monotypes, linocuts, and collographs, each offering its own unique textures and creative possibilities.

Led in partnership with artist Maritza Davila, each session introduces new methods through demonstrations and guided practice. As you experiment with different approaches, you’ll gain confidence and discover which techniques resonate most with your artistic voice. The class culminates in a final project that brings together the skills and ideas you’ve developed along the way. No experience required, all materials provided.

Classes meet once per week on Wednesdays from 1:30-3:30p. Full class dates are as follows: 4/1, 4/8, 4/15, 4/22, 4/29, 5/6, 5/13, and 5/20.

These free courses are made possible by the generous support of E.A. Michelson Philanthropy, the H.W. Durham Foundation, and the Tennessee Arts Commission.

Many thanks for our partners at Creative Aging and the City of Memphis Parks Senior Centers.
