Description
In this two-day, eight-hour class, students will take a deep dive into multiple block printmaking. Through a series of demos, artists will learn the steps and planning the steps necessary to create a multiple-color print edition or collection of identical prints, how to use a jig system to keep their prints crisp and colors aligned, how to break an image into color components, as well as how to present their finished work. Students will carve multiple blocks- 2 or 3 to achieve their work. Participants will come away with many skills and a beautiful edition of prints they will be proud of.
Some printmaking experience is preferred.
Please bring a light lunch and beverage and an idea or two to work from.

DAY ONE: Tuesday, Oct 27 from 10am to 2pm
DAY TWO: Wednesday, Oct 28 from 10am to 2pm
About the instructor: Denise Markbreit is the founder of Print House, formerly Asheville Print Studio. Print House is a an analog print studio utilizing green practices that serves as a learning center, gallery, workspace and community shop. She is a lifelong printmaker and educator with a deep knowledge of print, painting, mixed media and bookmaking processes. Her prints, constructions, mixed media pieces, textiles and jewelry is held in collections world wide.
