Description
The first of Introductory Ethnic Dance Workshops - Mongolian Dance.
A stand-alone, 1.25 hour long workshop taught by Lan Youngdale. Dance experience is not required. This workshop is free, but requires registration to keep workshop size at or under 25 attendees.
About Lan: Lan began learning Chinese dance in 2002. She was not conversational in Chinese until around 2016~2020 and even now is learning words around Chinese performance and dance. The ethnic dance styles Lan performed on stage were rarely- if ever- explained in her primary language- English. Since ~2018, Lan has taken classes and sought knowledge on ethnic dance styles from around China. With these workshops, Lan hopes to share what she has learned and give access to people interested in learning basic history, elements, and movement for Mongolian Ethnic Dance- specifically Mongolian stage performance dance.
A photographer will be taking photos and video for grant reporting and social media purposes. Participants may choose to not be photographed/recorded.
