Description

Immerse yourself in the fundamentals of figure skating at the Greater Canandaigua Civic Center! Our small-group Intro to Figure Skating classes are designed to give each student the perfect balance of individual instruction and enjoyable skating with other skaters. Skaters must have some prior skating experience. If you’re brand new to the ice, we recommend you sign up for our Learn to Skate program, first. Once you’ve graduated from the Snowplow Sam levels, you can join us for figure skating! Alternatively, if you have skated previously but not taken a Learn to Skate class, please contact us for an evaluation so we can determine your skill level. 
 

Each week includes a 35-minute lesson and 35 minutes of practice time. We follow the Basic Skills curriculum outlined by Learn to Skate USA. You must have a Learn to Skate USA membership before registering, which can be obtained at learntoskateusa.com.

Whether you have your own skates or need rentals, join us and take your first steps toward graceful gliding and fun on the ice!

The Greater Canandaigua Civic Center opened in 1992 and welcomes over 40,000 visitors annually.
Located in the scenic Finger Lakes Region, the GCCC offers 17,000 square feet of unobstructed space
with seating for 700 to 1,000 spectators & guests.  With parking for over 200 vehicles and easy access
from the NYS Thruway, the GCCC is ideal for many activities.
