Intro to Leathercraft: make a collar!
Join us for an introduction to wearable leather craft! In this hands-on workshop, you'll get to make your own custom handmade leather collar!
Leather crafter Danielle of Rainbow Leather BK leads a night of queer leathercrafting.
In this workshop, you will create a complete collar, custom made to fit and according to your own style choices. The sample photos show the basic design and construction of the collar covered in this workshop. Choose your preferred color(s) from 4-5 different colors of leather, for either a single-color design or a multi-color design. Choose from different hardware options--including spikes, chains, or a classic smooth surface--to make it your own.
Participants will learn basic leathercrafting skills, including using a rivet press, rotary handheld hole punches, and other leatherworking tools.
Class size is limited, so that Danielle can offer each person individual attention and instruction.
No prior leatherworking experience is required! All are welcome.
All materials are included in the price of the workshop.
Note: If you're making this item for someone else, please come to the workshop with that person's neck measurement so that you can make a collar that's the right size to fit that person. If you're making it for yourself, you can measure your neck in the class and get help from the instructors as needed.
