Intro to Outdoor Watercolors with Barrie Foster

May 3, 17, & 31, 2026

1-3 pm

Learn to create beautiful works of art while outside with watercolor paints in this introductory class with local Memphis artist and instructor, Barrie Foster. Every week Barrie will lead you through a new part of the Garden to paint what’s in bloom and explore. Tickets are available as single class dates or buy the series to save!

This class is adults-only, 18+, and requires a supply list. Please read through the supply list prior to purchasing your tickets. Supply brands are able to be swapped as needed but the materials should remain the same or similar. Click here to view the supply list.

Barrie Foster began painting in watercolor in 1998 when she and her husband moved to a farm in Tipton County. Since that time, she has won numerous art awards both locally and nationally. She now paints in several mediums including watercolor, acrylic, oils, chalk pastels, oil pastels, charcoal, and water-soluble graphite. She has taught art in the community for more than 15 years and continues to do so throughout the Mid-South. Currently she teaches art at the VA Hospital in Memphis, to the Seniors at Creative Aging, and to the Tipton County 4 H children.
