Intro to Watercolor Botanicals with Barrie Foster

Learn to create beautiful works of art with ink pen and watercolor paints in this four week, introductory class with local Memphis artist and instructor, Barrie Foster. Every week Barrie will lead you through a new lesson on color theory, learning to design compositions, painting with watercolors, and detailing your pieces with micron fine line pens. At the end of your four weeks, you will have four 8”x8” pieces to take home plus an array of new skills to keep with you forever.
This class is adults-only, 18+, and requires a supply list. Please read through the supply list below prior to purchasing your tickets. Please note that dates are not consecutive and will take place only on January 18, January 25, February 15, and February 22. Your ticket is for all four days of instruction.
Barrie Foster began painting in watercolor in 1998 when she and her husband moved to a farm in Tipton County. Since that time, she has won numerous art awards both locally and nationally. She now paints in several mediums including watercolor, acrylic, oils, chalk pastels, oil pastels, charcoal, and water-soluble graphite. She has taught art in the community for more than 15 years and continues to do so throughout the Mid-South. Currently she teaches art at the VA Hospital in Memphis, to the Seniors at Creative Aging, and to the Tipton County 4 H children.
