Introduction to Enameling on Copper

October 14, 10 am-5 pm

Learn the ancient art of bonding metal and glass into a harmonious and colorful work of art. During this workshop, we will explore the basics of how to apply glass powder to copper pieces to add color to your metalwork for jewelry or sculpture. Experience with enameling is *not* required for this class. We'll cover all the basics, and you'll leave class with lots of inspiration and information to keep the creativity going. This class is for anyone wanting to learn to add color to their work and explore enameling basics. Students will leave class with several enameled pieces that can be used as pendants or earrings. All materials are provided, and all tools needed will be available for use in class. You are welcome to bring any of your own tools or enamels if you have them. We request that any enamels you bring from home be unleaded for the safety of everyone in the class.

Bring lunch or purchase a boxed lunch from Fratelli’s Cafe at the Garden.
