Description

It's just walking, how hard can it be? For some entertainers getting from one point of a stage to the other can be a daunting task - even for the experienced professional!

In this class, participants will learn several standard traveling dance movements that have been specifically stylized for burlesque performance. Lily Star will teach how to apply proper body placement and weight transfer while giving you the tools to be more confident moving across a stage. This workshop will demonstrate how to use basic steps to create exciting transitions, take the energy to the audience, change the focus, as well as add character and musicality to multiple types of burlesque acts.

This class is offered to all. The School of Striptease teaches using the motto, "all bodies are burlesque bodies." 
Please wear clothing that does not restrict your movement. Heels are optional. 


Lily Star has over thirty years of choreography and instruction experience.  She has participated in and/or choreographed 45 musical productions and has instructed students of all ages and levels in dance, theatre and burlesque.  She taught a weekly class for three years at the Las Vegas Burlesque Studio and has taught at multiple burlesque festivals.  She has also staged numbers for Ribbon of Life, the Burlesque Hall of Fame Weekender, and the Smoky Mountain Burlesque Festival. Lily has had the opportunity to work with and to take classes from many of the industry’s top artists including burlesque legends, Tiffany Carter and Lovey Goldmine.  She has served as a mentor for the 2019 Golden Legend Champion Challenge and also won the 2nd runner up title and the Golden Maze award in 2021. 

This course is scheduled to be taught in-person. The Burlesque Hall of Fame reserves the right to teach this course virtually, at its discretion. Furthermore, classes may be recorded via Zoom for any students who may need to miss a class.
