Based on one of Roald Dahl’s most poignantly quirky stories, Roald Dahl's James and the Giant Peach JR. is a brand new take on this "masterpeach" of a tale.  Featuring a wickedly tuneful score by Broadway and film legends Pasek and Paul and a witty and charming book, this adventurous musical about courage and self-discovery is destined to be a classic.

When James is sent by his conniving aunts to chop down their old fruit tree, he discovers a magic potion that grows a tremendous peach, rolls into the ocean and launches a journey of enormous proportions. James befriends a collection of singing insects that ride the giant piece of fruit across the ocean, facing hunger, sharks and plenty of disagreements along the way.

  • For the health and safety of yourself and others, parties will be seated in socially distanced clusters, according to ticket purchase order number.
  • If you wish to be seated in a cluster with another party on a separate ticket order, please let us know in the "Notes" section with the order number you wish to be seated with. 
  • We suggest pre-ordering your tickets, as tickets purchased at the door are limited and are first come, first served.
  • You may not select your specific seats in advance due to logistics involved with socially distanced seating. Your seats will be reserved for you and you will be seated upon arrival.
  • Masks will be required for entrance to Area Stage Company and must be worn over your nose and mouth at all times. Anyone not properly wearing a mask will be asked to leave.

Area Stage Company

Area Stage Company (ASC), established in 1989, is an award-winning professional theatre company that for 32 years has staged provocative, world-class theatre productions. Founded by John and Maria Rodaz, ASC originated in Miami Beach as one of the pioneers of the Miami arts community that surged in the 1980’s on Lincoln Road when the once high-end shopping area had become a dilapidated strip of empty storefronts. Since its inception, ASC has presented a mix of contemporary plays and original new works, producing numerous world premieres, quickly “changing the perception and standards of what South Florida's theatres can and should be,” according to the Sun-Sentinel, which described the organization as “one of the most influential theatres in the region.”
