The Anglican Parish of Saint Mark began as a mission of Trinity Episcopal Parish in 1872. The present building was built in 1925 and is the third building to house the parish. It is Romanesque in style, modeled after the 10th-century Basilica of San Zeno in Verona, Italy. During this performance, you find yourself surrounded by the special features of the nave -- the walls of hand-painted murals from the 1930's, sturdy pillars, rounded arches and walls of alternating courses of cream and red brick, soaring wooden-beam ceiling, clerestory and ground-floor stained glass windows beautifully depicting scenes from Christ's ministry, several of which date back to 1890. English in origin and steeped in tradition, St. Mark's observes the historic practices of the Continuing Anglican Movement, where the worship here conforms with Sacred Scripture. Its prayers and liturgy are among the most beautiful in the English language. They continue to speak for us and to us, as they have for 20 generations. We invite and welcome you to attend our services and fellowship afterwards.
