Don’t miss historian, blogger and bonafide Brickell expert Casey Piket on this special guided walking tour exploring the people, places, and pivotal moments that transformed Brickell from a sparsely settled wilderness outpost into one of Miami’s most prominent neighborhoods. From the Rivergate Complex, participants will travel south to SE Eighth Street, the eastern end of the historic Tamiami Trail, and continue toward Brickell Key on Claughton Island. The route then follows the bayfront north to Mary Brickell Park, where participants will visit the Brickell family mausoleum and learn how this small but important piece of waterfront property was preserved as public green space. The tour concludes at the historic First Presbyterian Church of Miami.
