This Jane’s Walk, taking place at Lower Paul Park in the Riverside neighborhood of Atlanta, focuses on themes of Environment, History & Culture, Advocacy.
What does Atlanta look like when it finally faces the river?
Join Nathan Gallentine, project manager for the City of Atlanta's Atlanta RiverLands initiative, for a walk along the Chattahoochee River in the Riverside neighborhood.
Local experts from Trust for Public Land, the Riverside neighborhood, and ChattahoocheeNOW will join to share the vision for Lower Paul Park and what it could mean for a city learning to turn toward its waterway.
This is a walk about what's coming as much as what's already here.
Note: This walk covers uneven, unpaved terrain through mostly shaded areas. Closed-toed shoes and long pants are strongly recommended.

About Jane’s Walk
Jane’s Walk is an annual global festival honoring the legacy of urbanist, activist, and writer Jane Jacobs with free, citizen-led walking tours through the neighborhoods that lend so much character to our cities.
The festival promotes civic engagement and encourages leaders and participants to share stories about their communities and use walking as a means of connecting with their neighbors.
The Details:
Distance of Route: Approximately 2 miles
Duration of Walk: 60 minutes
Walk Language: English
Accessibility: Terrain: Unpaved, mostly shaded, with significant uneven terrain. This event is NOT wheelchair accessible.
What to Bring: Closed-toed hiking friendly shoes, long pants, sunscreen, water, umbrella, walking stick if you normally use one on a hike.
This walk takes place rain or shine.
