Jay Jurden is the star of the new Hulu comedy special Yes Ma’am, a breakout hour that solidifies him as one of the sharpest and most original comedic voices working today. Based in New York and originally from Mississippi, Jay has become a national standout thanks to his precise writing, magnetic presence, and a point of view that is both deeply personal and universally funny. Jay is a four-time guest on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and has also appeared on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, The Late Late Show with James Corden, Comedy Central Featuring, and HBO’s High Maintenance. He was a Staff Writer for Apple TV+’s Emmy-nominated The Problem with Jon Stewart, bringing his distinctive comedic insight to one of television’s most influential political-comedy series.
In 2022, Jay was named one of Variety’s 10 Comics to Watch, and his debut comedy album Jay Jurden Y’all premiered at #1 on iTunes. His writing has appeared in The New Yorker, Vulture, Teen Vogue, McSweeney’s, and Marvel’s Voices: X-Men #1, showcasing a range that extends well beyond stand-up.
