Description
Join us for an evening of queer music featuring Jessye DeSilva (Boston, MA) and Ryan Leddick (Troy, NY), bringing together piano-driven alt-Americana, soulful folk-rock, and two powerful voices for some uniquely queer ruckus this October.
Jessye DeSilva seamlessly blends theatrical pop with traditional folk and roots music, infusing hope into songs exploring religious alienation, mental health, and societal injustice. Their piano-driven alt-Americana sound has earned comparisons to Elton John and Brandi Carlile, a nomination for Americana Artist of the Year at the Boston Music Awards, and recognition as a Nashville Scene Artist to Watch. Their forthcoming album, Glitter Up the Dark, produced by Aaron Lee Tasjan, expands on that sound with flourishes of ’80s pop and ’90s alternative.
Troy-based singer-songwriter Ryan Leddick brings a soulful and intimate counterpoint, weaving his haunting voice with rhythmic guitar lines into an enticing folk-rock sound. Raised in the Adirondacks and shaped by years of performing throughout the Northeast, Ryan has shared the stage with Broadway performers as well as artists including Damien Rice, Of Good Nature, and Brian Dunne.
Love piano-driven alt-Americana? A soulful, intimate folk tune? Come hear two distinctive artists fill Mount Ida Preservation Hall for an evening of queer music, storytelling, and connection.
