JLA+EI are teaming up for an Axes and Arms New Year Kickoff event!

Come join us for a fun-filled event to kick off the New Year! Get ready to unleash your inner warrior with an Axe Throwing Tournament and AR-15 Raffle. This in-person event promises an exciting time for everyone. Whether you're a seasoned pro or a newbie, it's gonna be fun! Grab your friends for a night of friendly competition and celebration. Let's get ready to start the New Year with a bang at the Axes and Arms New Year Kickoff!

Axe-throwing tournament:

Grab your buddies! Two-man teams. Each night with prize money for the top two teams. $50 entrance charge per two man team with up to 32 teams. 1st place will receive $300 cash and 2nd place $150 for a 32 team event. Prepay through Venmo or day of in cash at event. @jlafirearmsllc for VENMO entries. Please indicate “Axe throwing” when sending Venmo.

AR-15 Raffle:

$10 per raffle ticket. Drawing will take place in the first week of 2025 from the first event. Buy ahead of event through Venmo or day of in cash. @jlafirearmsllc for VENMO entries. Please indicate “2024 Raffle” when sending Venmo.

Custom gun work drop-offs:

Come to learn more about the services JLA Firearms provides! You will have the opportunity to have custom gun work completed by JLA Firearms. Drop off your firearm at the events.

Food:

There will be food service available for purchase at the events by local venders. Come hungry!

BOYB/Cigars:

You will be able to bring your own beverages and cigars. Cigars will also be available for purchase at the events.

Tournament Safety, Format/Rules:

Safety:

  • All participants must follow safety protocols.
  • No alcohol consumption before or during matches by tournament participants. Failure to comply will disqualify the individual from the tournament.
  • Use only axes provided at the event.
  • No distractions to members while throwing.
  • Only team members that are throwing for their respective round are permitted within the lane boundaries.

Format:

*Before Tournament*

  • Each team will be provided with their bracket position based on registration and pre-tournament throwing for seating. Teams must be awaiting their turn prior to being called. Failure to be at your location within 3 minutes when it is time will forfeit your team’s round.
  • Teams will need to throw in the pre-tournament time for proper seating. 5 throws each person. The total points for your team will determine your seating position. This will allow top-seated teams to not face each other in opening rounds.

*During Tournament*

  • 2 lanes. 4 Targets. 2 targets per lane. 20 throws per team/per round. Single elimination.
  • 4 people throwing per round (i.e., Team 1 and 2). Members from each team will throw head/head and then switch targets. For example, Member #1 from Team #1 throws 10 times against Member #1 from Team # 2. Then, Members #2 from each team switch targets and throw their respective 10 times. The two-person team with the highest total points together win the round and advance to the next tournament round.
  • Standard scoring zones apply (e.g., bullseye = 5 points, next ring = 3 points, next = 1.
  • Each team’s score is the total of both members’ throws for that round.
  • Referee will record the score of each throw. The score for each throw will be given and called out based on the agreed review between the thrower and the opposing thrower. If there is a disagreement, the referee will have the final say.
  • Each team has 20 throws per round (10 throws each).
  • Throws are taken in turns between the two team members (i.e., Team member 1 throws 10 times sequentially, then hands off to Team member 2).
  • Each throw counts toward the team's total score.
  • One handed - overhand only.
  • Throwing behind the designated line. Crossing the line forfeits the points for that throw.
  • Tiebreaker goes into a Sudden Death round.
  • If the ax misses the target, there is no re-throw.
  • Re-throws may only be given based on the discretion of the referee in case of a distraction.
